I'm using the IUCN RedList classification, which is organized as follows:
The IUCN Red List category "Endangered" (EN) designates species that face a very high risk of extinction in the wild. The criteria for a species to be classified in this category are:
Population Reduction: A population decline of 50% or more over the last 10 years or three generations, whichever is the most recent assessment.
Geographic Distribution: A restricted and declining geographic range.
Small Population: A population numbering fewer than 250 mature individuals.
Quantitative Analysis: A probability of extinction in the wild of 20% or more within the next 20 years or five generations.
